2025-26 Required Summer Math Assignments
Have your (4th grade & older) children complained that their math homework takes too long . . . or have their grades suffered this year? Our math teachers have noticed it too!
Students need to memorize their math facts and build their math muscles! Basic math facts – like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Please use this summer to help them build math speed and accuracy! Students must show their work in every math class. Teachers in grades 3-5 even provide workspace with numbered boxes on math worksheets to encourage students to work out the problems. This also helps our teachers identify exactly where mistakes are made and show the students where they need to spend more time. Remind the children that calculators are not allowed until Algebra I.
We have curated a list of helpful math resources available to your student(s) below. We ask that you report their progress on the Math Practice Tracker. The Math Roman Numeral Tracker works just like a summer reading challenge at the local library. For each day the student spends 15-20 minutes doing math, parents should initial and date one of the Roman Numerals. Students will submit the completed Tracker when they return in August for a special treat and a grade.
Required:
All students in grades 3 and above should memorize the 0-12 Multiplication tables by August. Multiplication is essential for understanding more advanced math concepts.
Students in grades K-7 should have received a hard copy math packet from their current math teacher to complete; this is their primary source for skill review. You can also find your math packet linked here.
